Description:
Plant alkaloid and inhibitor of α- and β-glucosidases. It has anti-diabetic potential since its inhibitory activity on α-glucosidases helps control the postprandial blood glucose levels and supresses hyperglycemia. The compound exhibits anti-viral activity against Dengue, Influenza, HIV and Herpes Simplex viruses thanks to its ability to interfere with folding of viral structural glycoproteins.
