2,3-Di-O-Carboxymethyl-D-glucose (DCM) is a carboxymethyl derivative of glucose. DCM is used as a chromatographic and solvent system additive in the purification of ethers. It has also been used to produce carboxymethylcellulose and hydrolysis products such as 2,3-di-O-carboxypropyl glucopyranoside. DCM is an off white solid at room temperature with a melting point of 71°C.
