Ac-Val-Phe-Arg-Ser-Leu-Lys-MCA is a peptide substrate for Site 1 Protease (S1P). Ac-Val-Phe-Arg-Ser-Leu-Lys is the sequence of amino acids that is cleaved by S1P. Acetylation of the side chain of Lys residue in the peptide substrate increases the hydrophilicity and decreases the reactivity with S1P. This product can be used to study and characterize enzymes that are involved in proteolysis, such as Site 1 Protease.
