Product Information

Name:
Isodihydrofutoquinol A
Description:

Isodihydrofutoquinol A is a chloroform extract of the fruits of Apiole. It has been found to have a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and yeasts. Isodihydrofutoquinol A inhibits the enzyme bacterial RNA polymerase in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. The natural product also has an inhibitory effect on protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes. Isodihydrofutoquinol A is structurally similar to indole alkaloids such as apiole, indole-3-acetic acid, and tryptophan that are produced by plants. Isodihydrofutoquinol A may be transformed into different products via chemical reactions with other substances such as oxygen or light.
