Product Information

Name:
1,2:5,6-Di-O-isopropylidene-D-glucofuranosulose enolacetate
Description:

1,2:5,6-Di-O-isopropylidene-D-glucofuranosulose enolacetate is a synthetic sugar that is used as a click modification to carbohydrates. It has been shown to have activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This compound has been synthesized for the first time in 2018 by using a new approach of glycosylation. In this process, 1,2:5,6-Di-O-isopropylidene-D-glucofuranosulose enolacetate is modified with methyl groups at the C1 position and then fluorinated. The final product was obtained by reacting this sugar with glycine ethyl ester hydrochloride in the presence of sodium azide in refluxing ethanol.
