2-Deoxy-2-trifluoroacetamido-D-glucose (dTFA) is an acetal that is formed from the reaction of trifluoroacetic acid with 2-deoxy-2-trifluoroacetamido-D-glucose. It also has the ability to react with amino groups on peptides and proteins, forming acetals. 2-Deoxy-2-trifluoroacetamido-D-glucose has been shown to have a variety of functions including being a carbohydrate, an acetal, and an inhibitor of peptide bond formation.
