Product Information

Name:
2,3-Dideoxy-2-methylene-D-glycero-D-galacto-nononic acid γ-lactone
Description:

Methyl 2,3-dideoxy-2-methylene-D-glycero-D-galacto-nononic acid gamma-lactone is a fluorinated derivative of 2,3-dideoxygalactonojirimycin. It is an analog of the natural product 2,3-dideoxygalactonojirimycin and has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of glycolipids in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Methyl 2,3-dideoxy-2-methylene-D-glycero-D-galacto nononic acid gamma lactone was synthesized by modification of the galactonojirimycin core with methylation at C2 and C3 followed by fluorination at C1.
