3,5-Dideoxy-3,5-imino-1,2-O-isopropylidene-N-methyl-6-O-tert.butyldimethylsilyl-b-L-glucofuranose is a modified sugar that is used as a chemical intermediate for the synthesis of saccharides, oligosaccharides, and other carbohydrate molecules. It can be synthesized from 3,5,-dichloroisonicotinic acid by the reaction with sodium methylate in methanol. This compound has been shown to form glycosidic bonds with sugars such as glucose and galactose and is used in click chemistry reactions.
