Product Information
Euphohelioscopin A is a potent inhibitor of the growth and viability of cells. It has been shown to have inhibitory properties against myeloid leukemia cells and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, among others. Euphohelioscopin A is used in many different types of cell-based assays as a positive control for the inhibition of bacterial growth. This compound also has anti-inflammatory effects, which may be due to its ability to stimulate IL-10 production by human monocytes in response to lipopolysaccharide stimulation.
Euphohelioscopin A is a terpene that can be found in many plants, including eugenol from cloves. The chemical structure is similar to that of penicillin.
