Description:
MEDICA 16 is a natural compound that is extracted from the roots of the plant, Garcinia mangostana. It has been shown to have anti-obesity effects by increasing intracellular calcium concentration and metabolic rate in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. MEDICA 16 also increases the oxidation potential in adipose tissue and increases the activity of adenine nucleotide and fatty acid metabolism. This compound induces an increased uptake of glucose into liver cells, which may be due to its ability to activate receptors. MEDICA 16 also reduces the amount of triglycerides in blood plasma and inhibits lipid accumulation in liver cells during ischemia reperfusion injury.
