Lupeolic acid
Controlled Product
Description:

Lupeolic acid is a lupeol-type triterpenoid compound that has been found in plants, such as the leaves of the plant Piper auritum. Lupeolic acid has demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory activity in vitro and may be useful for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. It also inhibits the production of TNF-α (tumour necrosis factor-α) and MDA (malondialdehyde) in cancer cells. This compound is an effective agent against breast cancer cells, prostate cancer cells, and cervical cancer cells. Lupeolic acid has been shown to inhibit tumor growth by inducing apoptosis and arresting cell cycle progression in vitro. It also exhibits significant antioxidant properties by inhibiting lipid peroxidation and oxidative injury to mitochondria.
