Description:(±)-8-Hydroxy-2-(Dipropylamino)tetralin hydrobromide is an antagonist that blocks the effects of serotonin at 5-HT1A and 5-HT2 receptors. It is used in research to study the effects of serotonin on the central nervous system, including locomotor activity, anxiety levels, and sleep. The drug also has been shown to have a potent effect on prolactin release in rats. (±)-8-Hydroxy-2-(dipropylamino)tetralin hydrobromide binds with high affinity to 5-HT1A and 5-HT2 receptors, preventing serotonin from binding and activating these receptors.
