Product Information
14,15-Dihydroajugapitin is a diterpene from the family of lamiaceae. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against human pathogens. The antibacterial activity of 14,15-dihydroajugapitin is due to its ability to inhibit bacterial growth by binding to the ribosome and inhibiting protein synthesis. This compound also has an antifeedant effect on larvae of insects such as the cabbage looper and cabbage butterfly. 14,15-Dihydroajugapitin was not found to be mutagenic or cytotoxic in vitro in Salmonella typhimurium strains TA98, TA100, TA102, and TA104.
