Description:15-deoxy--12,14-prostaglandin J2 (15d-PGJ2) is a prostaglandin that is produced by 3T3-L1 preadipocytes in response to various stimuli. 15d-PGJ2 has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and may be an important modulator of inflammation. 15d-PGJ2 has also been shown to induce autophagy and apoptosis in cancer cells. This compound is cytotoxic at high concentrations, but not at low levels. The molecular docking analysis suggests that 15d-PGJ2 binds to the transcription factor NFATc1, which may account for its anti-inflammatory effects.
