Product Information

Name:
HAMI 3379
Controlled Product
Description:

HAMI 3379 is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the production of TNF-α, a pro-inflammatory cytokine that has been implicated in the pathogenesis of many diseases such as asthma and Alzheimer's disease. HAMI 3379 inhibits TNF-α production by blocking the leukotriene D4 receptor, which prevents the activation of transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It also blocks leukotriene receptors on microglia, preventing the release of inflammatory molecules such as hydrogen sulfate and eosinophil peroxidase. HAMI 3379 has shown neuroprotective effects in vitro by preventing neuronal death induced by glutamate. In vivo studies have shown that this drug can penetrate into central nervous system tissues to inhibit leukotriene synthesis in astrocytes and microglia.
