Description:
Atramycin A is a natural antibiotic derived from Streptomyces atramentarius. It has been shown to have broad-spectrum antibacterial and antiviral activity, although it is not active against microorganisms that have developed resistance to other antibiotics. Atramycin A binds to the ribosomal subunit of the bacterial cell membrane and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death. This antibiotic has also been shown to be effective against parasites and fungi.
