Description

D-Glucamine, also known as glycamine, 1-Amino-1-deoxy-D-glucitol and 1-Amino-1-deoxy-L-sorbitol, is a naturally occurring amino sugar, precursor for glycosylated proteins and lipids. It is used as an excipient in pharmaceutical formulations, where it can act as a stabilizer, pH adjuster, or osmotic agent. D-Glucamine is also used, together with iodinated organic compounds, in X-ray contrast media. In cosmetics, it is used as moisturizer and smoother.
