Product Information
TAPI-2 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the surface glycoprotein of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. TAPI-2 is not active against other types of cancer cells, such as MCF-7 or HCT116. TAPI-2 has been shown to cause neuronal death in an experimental model and may be used as a potential biomarker for the detection of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. The mechanism by which TAPI-2 induces neuronal cell death is not yet known, but it may involve receptor activity or interaction with the α subunit of DNA polymerase. TAPI-2 also binds to nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and can be used as a tool for investigating NSAID binding sites on the surface glycoprotein.
