Description

2,3-O-Isopropylidene-1,4-di-O-tosyl-D-threitol is a solid catalyst that has been shown to be an excellent additive for polyolefin resins. It is used in the manufacture of styrene and other polymers. 2,3-O-Isopropylidene-1,4-di-O-tosyl-D-threitol also shows reactive properties and can be used as a flame retardant or as an extender for ethylene. This compound has been shown to have bone growth promoting effects and has been used as an additive in surfactants.
