Alsterpaullone has also been shown to have significant cytotoxicity in liver cells, leading to cell lysis and decreased ATP production. This drug also inhibits the activity of enzymes such as succinate dehydrogenase and acetyl-CoA carboxylase, which are involved in energy metabolism.
