Product Information
- PKCβII Peptide Inhibitor I trifluoroacetate salt
- Protein Kinase C Beta II Peptide Inhibitor I trifluoroacetate salt
PkcβII peptide inhibitor I trifluoroacetate salt (PKI) is a potent, selective, and orally active inhibitor of PKCβII. It can be used for the treatment of cardiac hypertrophy. PKI inhibits PKCβII by binding to its catalytic domain and blocking the phosphorylation of substrates. PKI also has a low molecular weight and a low degree of hydrophobicity which allows it to cross the blood-brain barrier and enter the central nervous system. This drug has been shown to be effective in reducing the severity of myocardial infarction in animal models by preventing ventricular hypertrophy.
