Levofloxacin methyl ester has also been shown to increase the activity of rifampicin against Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, indicating its potential as a synergistic drug combination. Levofloxacin methyl ester is excreted in urine and has been shown to have antioxidant properties similar to astaxanthin.
