- Lebetyolin
Lobetyolin is a bioactive compound derived from the roots of Codonopsis pilosula. It has been shown to have a variety of biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-cancer effects. Lobetyolin has been found to be a potent inhibitor of the activation of the MAPK signal pathway, which is involved in process optimization and mucin gene expression. It also inhibits the activation of NF-κB, which is involved in inflammatory responses and tumorigenesis. Lobetyolin has been found to inhibit proliferation in cancer cells and induce apoptosis by inhibiting DNA synthesis through inhibition of RNA polymerase activity. Lobetyolin can be used as a natural dye because it contains protocatechuic acid, which is an analytical marker for pueraria lobata. Lobetyolin has also been shown to bind strongly with polystyrene particles and poly(vinyl alcohol) polymers.
