Description:

Methyl a-D-glucopyranoside 2,3,4,6-tetrasulfate potassium salt is a custom synthesis. It is a modification of a monosaccharide and an oligosaccharide with the use of click chemistry. The product is synthesized by fluorinating the methyl group of the glycosyl hydroxyl group in order to increase its stability. The resulting compound has been shown to have inhibitory effects on bacterial growth and to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
