Product Information
- methyl 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-1-thiohexopyranoside
Methyl 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-a-D-thiomannopyranoside is a linker that is used in the synthesis of oligodeoxyribonucleotides. This compound has been shown to inhibit the expression of factor receptor α subunit in plant cells. In human studies, methyl 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-a-D-thiomannopyranoside has been found to be effective against infectious diseases such as HIV and malaria by suppressing the production of growth factors. It also inhibits protein synthesis and cell division. Methyl 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-a -D -thiomannopyranoside is synthesized from D -mannose and acetaldehyde in plants. The biosynthesis of this compound occurs by means of a sequence that begins with phosphorylation of D -mannose
