Moxifloxacin acyl D-glucuronide is a fluorinated, synthetic compound that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 16S ribosomal RNA. This drug has been shown to have a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Moxifloxacin acyl D-glucuronide is not active against acid-fast bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex. The most common adverse effect associated with this drug is nausea.
