Product Information
LDN 27219 is a genotoxic compound that has been shown to induce hepg2 cells to undergo autophagy and cell death by inhibiting the activity of enzymes that are necessary for the production of DNA, RNA, and proteins. LDN 27219 may also be used as an anticancer agent. LDN 27219 inhibits the activity of enzymes bound to DNA such as topoisomerase II and DNA polymerases, which are essential for DNA replication and repair. LDN 27219 binds to the enzyme-DNA complex and causes a conformational change that leads to inhibition of these enzymes. This inhibition may lead to cancer cell death by preventing the synthesis of new DNA. LDN 27219 also binds with hydrogen bonds in the enzyme-DNA complex, leading to structural changes in the molecule and inhibiting enzyme activities.
