The glycosylation pattern of this compound is different from that of neocarrabiose A because it contains additional modifications at the terminal positions on the sugar rings. Neocarrabiose-4-O-sulfate sodium is used for glycosylation reactions, such as Click chemistry and oligosaccharide synthesis.
