• Description: Nefopam is a compound that has been used as an analgesic and antipyretic. It is structurally related to the benzodiazepine class of drugs, but is not chemically equivalent to any other known drug. Nefopam has a low therapeutic index and can cause severe toxic effects in overdose. The most common adverse effects of nefopam are dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea and vomiting. An overdose can lead to death by respiratory paralysis or cardiac arrest.
