Product Information
- Propofol-D-glucuronide
Propofol-b-D-glucuronide is an inactive form of propofol that is metabolized by the liver to the active form. It is excreted in urine as its glucuronide conjugate. Propofol-b-D-glucuronide is used to help maintain a patient's anesthesia during surgery and has been shown to be effective in women, although it may cause drug interactions with other drugs. This drug also has a matrix effect on analytical methods, which means that the results are affected by the chemical composition of the sample preparation. The hydrolysis of propofol-b-D-glucuronide can be monitored using preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The HPLC assay for propofol can be used to monitor uptake in humans and animals because it does not require radioactive substances or multiple injections of labeled propofol. Propofol-b-D-glucuronide also inhibits
