Prim-O-glucosylcimifugin is a compound derived from Angelicae Dahuricae. This compound has been shown to have DNA binding activity in vitro and to inhibit the activity of an enzyme that is part of a signal pathway involved in viral replication. Prim-O-glucosylcimifugin has also been shown to be active against some infectious diseases, such as syncytial virus infection and HIV/AIDS. This compound also has anticomplement activity, which may be due to its ability to bind to C3b and C4b proteins on the surface of immune cells.
