This carbohydrate can be used in the synthesis of oligosaccharides and glycosylation reactions. 1,2,3,5,6-Penta-O-propanoyl b -D -glucofuranose has been fluorinated to give pentafluorobenzoyl b -D -glucofuranose which is used for click modification.
