Description:
Populin or populoside is a derivative of salicin. It is a glycoside that can be found in plant extracts of species such as Populus tremula, Populus nigra or Prunus grayana. This bark extract might have some inhibitory properties on aldose reductase, an enzyme involved in the diabetes. This type of populoside and similar derivatives seems to have antioxidant properties that could to alleviate oxidative stress.
