Description:
Phloridzin is a phenolic acid that is found in the cell walls of plants. It has been shown to be a potent antioxidant, with anti-inflammatory and anti-tumour properties. Phloridzin is also an inhibitor of the divalent metal ion-dependent diphenolase activity that causes oxidative DNA damage. The dihydrate form of phloridzin has been shown to inhibit cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in mice by reducing oxidative stress.
