The activation of immune cells may be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of enzymes that are required for DNA synthesis. 1,3,5-Tri-O-benzoyl-2'-O-(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)-a-[D]ribofuranosyl phosphate also inhibits the expression of enzymes involved in DNA replication and cell proliferation.
