Description:16,16,17-D-3-Testosterone D-glucuronide is a synthetic intermediate that is used in the synthesis of steroids. It can be synthesized by glycosylation of 16,16,17-D-3-testosterone with glucose in an aqueous solution containing a base. The sugar moiety is then removed by hydrolysis and the product is converted to methyl 3β-hydroxyandrostanediol by methylation. This synthetic intermediate has also been used for modification of saccharides and carbohydrates through fluorination or glycosylation.
