Tolmetin acyl-b-D-glucuronide is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is metabolized to the active form, tolmetin, in the liver. The major route of elimination is through the kidneys as an inactive conjugate with glucuronic acid and excreted in urine. Tolmetin acyl-b-D-glucuronide has been shown to react with lysines on proteins in biological fluids by forming covalent adducts. This reaction can lead to allergic reactions and other problems.
