Description

Wogonoside is a natural compound that has been shown to have potent anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6, IL-8, and TNFα) and chemokines (e.g., MCP1, MIP1α, and MIP1β) by inhibiting the activation of NFκB. Wogonoside also suppresses the proliferation of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis through activation of caspase 3. This compound also has inhibitory effects on infectious diseases such as Helicobacter pylori, Candida albicans, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Wogonoside is an inhibitor of GSH-px activities in vitro, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis in cancer cells.
