(S)-3-(4-Fluorophenoxy)pyrrolidine ee is a lipase inhibitor that has been shown to decrease the release of atherogenic lipids from macrophages in vitro. This drug reduces the accumulation of atherosclerotic plaque in vivo and has been shown to reduce the severity of atherosclerotic lesions. (S)-3-(4-Fluorophenoxy)pyrrolidine ee also inhibits endothelial cell proliferation and prevents lipid peroxidation, which is responsible for the development of cardiovascular disease. (S)-3-(4-Fluorophenoxy)pyrrolidine ee exhibits anti-lipidemic effects by inhibiting hepatic cholesterol synthesis and reducing plasma levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, thereby lowering blood pressure.
