Description:
Trans-zeatin-O-glucoside is an acid conjugate of the plant hormone zeatin. It is a substrate for the enzyme abscisic acid-O-glucosyltransferase, which conjugates it to glucose. Trans-zeatin-O-glucoside has been shown to confer postharvest tolerance in plantlets and to have a role in regulating growth, differentiation, and development of plants. Trans-zeatin-O-glucoside can also be used as a marker for the presence of abscisic acid in human proteins.
