2,5'-Anhydro-thymidine is an analog of thymidine that is used in the diagnosis of women with suspected acute ischemic brain damage. It is a colony-stimulating factor that can be activated by the presence of inflammatory bowel disease or bowel disease. 2,5'-Anhydro-thymidine has been shown to cause ventricular dysfunction and to increase levels of brain natriuretic peptide in mice undergoing rotarod tests. The use of this compound has been shown to improve outcomes in animal models of acute ischemic brain damage and cancer.
