Description:
2-Amino-2'-deoxy-2'-fluoroadenosine is a nucleoside that is structurally similar to adenosine. It is found in the population at a frequency of about 1% and has been shown to be genetically polymorphic. 2-Amino-2'-deoxy-2'-fluoroadenosine has been used to fingerprint bacterial isolates and for genotyping, as well as for DNA fingerprinting and electrophoresis. This nucleoside also has been used for serotyping of Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, with some success.
