Description:
Ara-C is a cytotoxic anti-cancer drug that acts as an equilibrative nucleoside and inhibits DNA synthesis by blocking the enzyme arabinoside kinase. Ara-C is used in the treatment of human malignancies, including lymphocytic leukemia and other leukemias. Ara-C has been shown to be effective in low doses against squamous cell carcinoma. This drug also interacts with other drugs, so it should not be taken with drugs such as ara-c or chloramphenicol.
