• Description: 2,2'-Anhydro-5'-O-toluoyluridine is a synthetic nucleoside analog that is used as an antiviral agent for the treatment of herpes simplex virus. It activates ribonucleotide reductase and inhibits DNA synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme DNA polymerase. 2,2'-Anhydro-5'-O-toluoyluridine has been shown to be active against colon cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This drug has also been shown to inhibit the growth of certain types of leukemia cells and may be useful in treating patients with chronic myeloid leukemia.
