Description:3'-Azido-5'-O-benzyl-3'-deoxy-D3-thymidine is a novel, activator ribonucleoside that has been synthesized to be used in the treatment of cancer and other diseases. It is an analog of thymidine and is phosphorylated by cellular enzymes to form 3'-azido-5'-O-benzyl-3'-deoxyuridine monophosphate (ABPMP) which inhibits viral DNA synthesis. This compound also shows antiviral effects against influenza A virus in vitro and can inhibit the replication of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1).
