5-Azacytidine 5'-monophosphate (5-Aza-CMP) is a modified nucleoside that inhibits DNA synthesis by competitively inhibiting the incorporation of deoxycytidine 5'-triphosphate into DNA. It is used as an antiviral and anticancer agent. 5-Aza-CMP has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human cancer cells in vitro, including T cell leukemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, and melanoma.
