Trioleyl Phosphite is an organic compound with a chemical formula of CH3(CH2)14COOCH2CH2OOCP(OCH3)4. It is used for the formulation of gels, lotions, and other skin care products. Trioleyl Phosphite is produced by reacting propylene glycol, phosphorous acid and isopropyl myristate in a reaction that produces phosphoric acid as a by-product. This product has disinfectant properties and can be used for surface disinfection and to inhibit the growth of microorganisms on surfaces. It also has adsorbing properties which may be due to its ability to bind to mineral ions such as chloride, sulfate, zinc sulfate, aluminium, and iron.
