²-Benzyl L-Aspartic Acid N-carboxyanhydride is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water. This product has a molecular formula of C13H17NO4 and a molecular weight of 249.258 g/mol. ²-Benzyl L-Aspartic Acid N-carboxyanhydride reacts with benzyl alcohol to form an ester, which can then react with an intramolecular hydrogen to form the imino group. The imino group can also react with carbonyl groups to form five membered, sandwiched, intermolecular hydrogen bonds and intramolecular hydrogen bonds.
