It also inhibits the production of hydrogen tartrate, which is an antibiotic compound produced by some strains of Staphylococcus aureus. Stearyl glycyrrhetinate can be used as a skin moisturizer and may be effective against meningiomas. This compound is not active against Escherichia coli or Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
