Product Information
5-(3-Chlorophenyl)-N-[4-morpholin-4-ymethyl)phenyl]furan-2-carboxamide is a biochemical that has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cells in vitro. It is an endogenous compound that is derived from the metabolism of lipids, and is found at high concentrations in the prostate. 5-(3-Chlorophenyl)-N-[4-morpholin-4-ymethyl)phenyl]furan-2-carboxamide inhibits the production of diacylglycerol (DAG) by blocking phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase (PAH). PAH is necessary for the production of DAG, which activates protein kinase CβII, leading to cancer cell proliferation. This compound also has been shown to decrease the growth and metastasis of prostate cancer cells by inhibiting cell motility.
